DIARY OF a CHAV by Grace Dent - A Review and I Didn't Know What a Chav Was Either!

Chava daily until the next in a series of teen novels ave mercy on Shiraz Bailey Wood. "Chava", for those unfamiliar with the term, is used as an insult to the British white working class people who have taken to wearing fashion inspired by hip-hop generation in America. Such things are fake designer clothes, hoodies, gold and gaudy jewelry, or "bling" is quite commonly found in a closet or cabinet of chave.

Shiraz, who is 16, likes to be called chave especially since she can not help that her family is well off. Her parents and work, but not much money, so things are hard to Shiraz as a teenager with all the peer pressure and such. Her high school was known as "Chava mean" deep Shiraz is just good-hearted girl who has trouble finding his way in his formative years. She has dreams and wants more from life with her parents and many of her friends at school were sent. Her best friend is Carrie Draper at Mayflower Academy ... AKA Central Chava and Shiraz has an older sister named Cava-Sue.

The novel was written as a diary with entries that are Shiraz through the school year and its summer break and back to the start of its 11th year. In her entries, she talks about all the trials and tribulations involved in what was a fairly typical teen angst novel type života.Priča includes all the typical teen experience: girl time, the boy, who wears what and all the important things in life teens .. . all that is important for them at that time

.

The book itself has some funny parts to it and the intended audience is, I am sure, quite a bit of fun. However, caution that it should be aimed at students of secondary school age with respect to language, and some of the activities that Shiraz and her friends enter. As an adult, a middle school reading teacher, I believe that I am quite on current issues, and most of the popular language of young teenagers to use. I am starting a teen students daily, and yet this one was the national language (language) that I did not even want to try to understand at times. I found the book to be very tedious to read and proći.Jezik is very British and euphemisms may have lost on me. Either way, I did not care for the book and not one I would recommend. I do not read many young adult novels, and many are very good, funny, silly, deep and prepared for this age group. However, you still find them to be good to read. This book, however, was not. I hope you will find an audience because I'm sure there are "chavs" out there who will appreciate the ancient lady latest novel.
