White Wine Storage

White wines are some of my personal favorites. To store and serve white wine properly, there are some unique characteristics that must be taken into account. Important factors to consider are the type, storage and serving temperature, humidity, storage, aging of the goals and basic storage environment (amount of light, exposure to vibration, temperature variances, etc. ).

Storage requirements are in any basic wine is reasonably straight forward. You must keep your bottles in a horizontal position to cork moist. Place of storage must be free of vibration and provide protection from light and UV rays. Temperature should be stable and optimal range of 42-58 degrees F. with the red wines are stored in the upper range and lower white wines. Ideal for storage will be in an environment where the relative humidity is at least 70 percent. Finally, do not store wine corks, where they can pick up strange odors from sources such as stinky cheese or worse.

Some of the most common white wine grapes are Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Grigio, Riesling and sauvignon blanc. Other popular white wines include Semillon, a favorite dessert wine, and Viognier, grown primarily in France and California. California is the primary condition in which white wines are also other important growing states are New York, Oregon and Washington.

should always be stored and used white cooler than the red. Most people recommend temperatures between about 42 degrees to 48 degrees F. species, such as Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and sparkling wine are best stored at the lower end of that range. Remember, saving temperature for white wines are cooler than their serving temperature. You need to research the optimal temperature conditions for storing and serving your favorite white wine.

a lot of wine in France is stored in caves where the stable temperatures near 55 degrees F. Most of us in the United States do not cave in handy for this use. The manufacturer is now offering many different styles and sizes of wine coolers and wine coolers can provide a stable temperature, provide horizontal storage of bottles of wine, reduce UV rays and run with little or no vibration. Wine coolers are also to be able to provide dual temperature zones for storing various classes of wine in their optimal temperature.

If you only occasionally grab a bottle to enjoy with your dinner, standard refrigerator will work for short term storage. If you want to keep the collection on hand after select from or if you intend to make their age to enhance their value and taste, investing in wine cooler, wine cellar or refrigerator is what would be best for you. Whatever you decide, I just offer this last bit of advice:. Buy wine that you like, save it properly, it serves at its best temperature and enjoy it to the last drop
